Nectar Share Their Pipe Dreams For 2023

In the wake of the release of their debut EP ‘Love In Limbo’, Boorloo/Perth band Nectar have highlighted their personal pipe dreams for 2023.

Drawing comparisons to Dope Lemon and Tame Impala, the quartet’s silky sound mixes R&B, neo-soul, indie and psychadelia- earning them a spot as one of WA’s most exciting rising artists. The perfect Sunday afternoon soundtrack, this lush new EP includes ‘Found A New Friend’, ‘Pipe Dream’ and ‘Way Too Soon’, and was produced by Sam Ford (Pond, Abbe May) at Tone City Recording Studio.

Light-hearted lead single ‘Pipe Dream’ explores the hopeful thought of a utopia, with the boys explaining: “we aren’t always pessimistic we promise, we know this is a dream many of us have and wish for! The themes of the song are really tied together with the cohesive instrumental changing moods from verse to chorus resolving on the point that all you can do is try to be your best self and to “take care”.

Read the boys’ own pipe dreams for 2023 below!

1 “One of my pipe dreams for 2023 is, I wish it was possible that everyone could have a 4 day work week if they pleased (yeah yeah we know about the economy and why this sometimes isn’t possible blah blah blah), but doesn’t it just seem like the grass would be a little greener if everyone could have an extra day to do the things they need🧐

2 “My Pipe dream for 2023 issssssss that I never have to carry my music gear around to shows again (My arms are struggling cause god damn that shits heavy)”

3 “A “Pipe Dream” that I have for 2023 is for one of the songs from our upcoming EP to be the new theme song for the TV show Game of Thrones. Although our music may not suit the themes of the show, I just think it would be awesome.”

4 “Having a Private Jet would be pretty cool, faces painted on it or something.  Although, with the moustaches in the band requiring such attention to detail, I think this dream is impossible.” – Matt

5 “Playing a show in a gorge under the stars of outback Western Australia (or somewhere similar) I’m talking about the likes of Karijini. Logistically and legally not happening, so I’ll keep on dreaming.” – Matt
