Plug In & Bliss Out To The New Single From ROI

You wont be able to get ROI out of your mind once you hear their new single In Mind, with masterminds Barnaby Gickel and Matt Schrader creating what can only be described as the epitome of pure relaxation.

Their freshly released album ‘August City’ was compiled from pure experimentation. “During our early writing days, I set up a video camera and filmed us jamming on ideas, later going through the footage in search of songs and In Mind was one of the songs we found,” says ROI.

The pair wanted to veer away from guitar on the new album to focus more on bass, drums and keyboard and that definitely shines through on the new track!

In Mind is a testament to soulful blues with its slow bass intro and light, airy drums. With a little keyboard building up to the chorus as featured artist Rowen (Lauren Porter) belts out the lyrics, it really does sprinkle a little soulful romance into your day. It’s a beautifully compiled track, the vocals complimenting the lightness of the instruments perfectly.

The new single isn’t the only good news either! ROI have just announced a show at Brisbane’s Black Bear Lodge later this month so we’ll be able to slowly sway to their soulful sounds sooner than we think!
