PREMIERE: Brisbane’s SHVRDZ & Allistere Team Up For Contrasting Beats EP
Rising Brisbane producers SHVRDZ and Allistere have teamed up to produce their two-track EP ‘Re-Orientated’ and it’s sure fire! The pair share the EP with one track each, SHVRDZ’ Preach and Allistere’s Only Human which both feature Sydney rapper DeeVilla.
Allistere and SHVRDZ draw their inspiration from artists such as Flume, Taku, and Chet Faker, and their EP sounds like a perfect mashup of A$AP Rocky, GANZ, and Taku. The two contrasting tracks are tied together with raw raps from DeeVilla while the styles of both SHRVDZ and Allistere are clearly definable.
First on the EP is Preach, SHVRDZ’ whopping banger which will seriously make you want to drop so damn low! “I’ve taken mixing the vocals back to my musical roots of froth-worthy, hard-hitting future trap,” SHVRDZ says of the track.
Sounding a bit like if GANZ had remixed A$AP Rocky’s Wild For The Night, Preach has everything you want in a banger, from heavy bass and rap horn sound effects, to drops that are so turnt you’d have to hear them to believe them!
In complete contrast, Allistere’s Only Human completely flips the mood and transports you into a warped soundscape filled with calming piano, smooth raps, and futuristic effects. Allistere says “project has been super fun! I focused a lot of experimenting with simple textures and styles”. If you like Flume’s Smoke & Retribution feat. rapper Vince Staples, you’ll love this multi-genre track!
