Premiere: Bronte Public Housing ‘Banana’

Sydney’s Bronte Public Housing  aka Jimmy Heathwood is returning this week with a brand new single Banana and we’ve been given the first listen. Forging is bones as once the singer of Hiaground, Jimmy Heathwood (BPH) set off with this project in 2019. Jimmy recorded a solo EP which would eventually become the projects first recording. “Bronte Public Housing has become a place where I can truely express myself in the most sincere and honest way possible“, says Jimmy.

The new single touches on the common pressures of living in a higher socio demographic area of Sydney where one is expected to get a good job, make good money, look good and make sure everyone knows about it on Instagram.

Recorded and mixed by band member Oscar Sharah; taking influence from bands like Arctic MonkeysTame Impala and Pink Floyd. Angst turned into freedom and expression. A critique on life as a creative in a city mostly devoid of expression and art” explains Jimmy.

Banana is released tomorrow 27th March. But you can listen today below. Bronte Public Housing will play a launch show this Friday at Newtown’s favourite The Vanguard.
