PREMIERE: Prudns Reveals Ethereal New EP, ‘Tinka’

Today we’ve got the exclusive first listen of Prudns’ enchanting new EP ‘Tinka’, to be released tomorrow November 12th.

While Australian artist Prudns debuted in May this year with single ‘Lies’, she’s actually been involved in music for many years. She cites seeing the Johnny Cash biopic ‘Walk the Line’ at the age of eight as her inspiration for pursuing music. Since then, she’s explored her passion for music performing with art-rock band Little Lotus, and fronting alt-pop trio Wurli.

After discovering the wonders of Ableton, she’s now branched out as a solo artist, developing her experimental electronic sound. A passionate creative force, she’s the mastermind and director behind all aspects of Prudns, making visual art alongside her music. Focused on captivating storytelling, her sound is sure to capture the hearts of fans of Maggie Rogers and Sylvan Esso.

During lockdown, Prudns’ channelled her creative energy into ‘Tinka’, the five-track EP that we’re now blessed with. ‘Tinka’ shows off her characteristic sound- one that defies being boxed into a single genre, instead weaving together elements of hyperkinetic pop, electronic and hints of Drum n Bass. A transformative sonic experience, each song is a journey in its own right, carried by glimmering vocals and free-flowing lyrics. The lead track ‘Fairies’ (and my personal favourite) encapsulates the magic of her artistry, telling an enchanting story of Prudns’ childhood fascination with mythical creatures. The following four tracks ‘Heart Attack’, ‘I Don’t Make Promises’, ‘Leave The Light On’ and ‘Lies’ continue this enthralling soundscape of bright beats and layered synths.
