Sahara Beck & Jay Bovino Drop Sensual Collab
Things that shouldn’t work but do: cheese and chocolate, black and white, and Get You Alone, a sultry, electronic collaboration from soulful songstress Sahara Beck and Sheppard guitarist Jay Bovino. The bonafide electro-pop hit sees Beck step out of her theatrical, alternative style and into Bovino’s world.
Get You Alone kicks off with a bubbly synthesiser melody and deliciously provocative lyrics, “When I was a kid, they said it was a sin/There wasn’t much that you could touch without a wedding ring/But I couldn’t wait, I had to liberate/We’re only animals, we eat and sleep and procreate”.
The light production beneath Sahara’s yearning vocals gives way to a pulsing slow-build into the chorus, where her strong mid-range steals the spotlight. Bovino’s impressive production sensibility keeps things light and playful throughout, offsetting the song’s sensual edge.
Taking influence from Calvin Harris, Galantis, and Justin Bieber, Bovino’s breakthrough track is a winner for lovers of modern production and soft-spoken dance anthems. Check out the poppy lyric video below!
