Shutup Shutup Shutup Release Toadie-Inspired “My Friends” & Debut EP Details

Brisbane punk trio Shutup Shutup Shutup have just released their brand new track My Friends, the lead single from their upcoming debut EP ‘Back to the Start’. This will be the band’s first EP since changing their name from Release the Hounds earlier this year.

My Friends features a far more light hearted and party vibe than the band’s debut single The Spit, and was written as break from some of the more serious songs on the upcoming EP. Throwing all technicality to the wind, My Friends is Shutup Shutup Shutup having plenty fun, wailing away on their instruments with a reckless abandon which is refreshing.

With catchy punk riffing, relentless drumming, and a vocal style that dances between singing, spoken word, and screaming, My Friends is about as punk as it gets. The repeated vocal refrain of “All my friends are better than your friends” is insanely catchy, and will be stuck in your head in no time! Plus any song that has a party with Toadie from ‘Neighbours’ in it has got to be pretty great!

“I like to write about what I want to happen in my life,” said frontman Liam Edward. Who knows, we might have a sneaky Toadie and Shutup Shutup Shutup collaboration in the future!

Shutup Shutup Shutup will be celebrating the release of the EP, set for release on the 14th of November, with a launch show at Crowbar on Saturday the 19th of November!
