Stop & Smell The Roses With Wallace’s Tropical Flavoured New Single

wallace

Sydney soulstress Wallace drops dreamily upbeat track Raffled Roses. Although originally a Kiwi we’ve claimed Wallace as one of our own with her refreshing mosaic of jazz, blues, hip-hop, and soul. She first impressed us with her debut single Vinyl Skip, which cemented her brand of soulful lyricism that harks to Amy Winehouse while weaving in pop hooks similar to Bieber’s Love Yourself.

Raffled Roses becomes a magnetic track given Wallace’s brassy vocals, transforming the ‘raffling of roses’ into an eargasmic cruise. The song opens like a blossom with Wallace’s sophisticated sultry vocals that flow into the electro-pop layering like sonic nectar. All with the added bonus of steel drums. You really can’t go wrong with steel drums!

The track has interesting connections with Wallace and its flowery symbolism. “My mum has had a running joke for years that I’m a bit of a  heartbreaker. I thought the image of raffling off roses was a perfect way to marry…botanical prowess with my apparently cold heart,” says Wallace.

Wallace recently performed at BIGSOUND and is likely to grace many a stage soon. Keep an eye out for a debut EP later this year and check out the new track below!
