Sum 41 Travel The World While Yelling “Death To Pop” In New Music Video
It’s been a big few months for punk. First Green Day burst back on the scene, then My Chemical Romance got us all excited with (false) reunion rumours, and now Sum 41 are back with their latest single and music video from upcoming album ’13 Voices’!
God Save Us All (Death To Pop) is a powerful punk anthem with thunderous instruments and gripping riffs. Turbulent guitars perfectly complement the killer vocals and drum beats to create a stampeding song that fans will love.
The video kicks off with frontman Deryck Whibley saying, “The cool thing about playing rock music all over the world is that you get to share this unity through music with other people…I think you only get that with rock music, I don’t feel anything with pop.”
The clip then follows the 5-piece as they head off on the recent Vans Warped Tour and their own European tour dates. Essentially you get to see the guys playing and bringing fans together all over the world, and it does feel pretty unifying.
Sum 41 were formed 20 years ago in Ontario, Canada. You probably remember them as noughties punk icons, riding the wave with bands like Green Day and blink-182. Their recent singles show they’re no one-trick pony. Their two previous releases, Fake My Own Death and War, are emotionally charged singles that show the guys have done some growing. ’13 Voices’ is set for release on Friday, 7th of October. In the meantime, listen to God Save Us All (Death To Pop) below!
