Sunday Wins Us Over With Newest Single ‘On A Wave’
Typical of Sunday’s warm euphoric sound, the Brisbane artist’s latest release ‘On a wave’ is an energetic track guaranteed to get you dancing.
Sunday is the explorative project of Aaron Shanahan, previous long-term band member of Australian electro-pop icons Miami Horror. Having amassed millions of listens on Spotify, played at festivals such as Coachella and Groovin The Moo and supported heavy-hitters like Empire Of The Sun and Crystal Fighters on tour, Sunday is an established favourite of the Indie-electronic scene.
‘On a wave’ draws the listener in and immerses them in a shimmering blend of dreamy synths and luminous vocal melodies. The upbeat instrumentals throughout the track hit like a direct dose of serotonin, with Sunday’s masterful soundscape capturing the essence of sun-bleached summer moments.

Sundays cites a wide variety of inspiration including the Californian desert and artists such as Peter Gabriel, Bjork, John Talabot and Nicolas Jaar. His signature explorative production techniques are highlighted in ‘On a wave’ where he creates a magical sonic landscape inspired by the introspect of human connection and vulnerability. He explains “I like to explore genuine emotions and create a place with sounds that can connect to a feeling”.
2020 is set to be an exciting year for Sunday with an upcoming EP and live immersive show in the works.
