Sunhaus Pay Homage to Dead Dog With Emotive Single “Bobby”

sunhaus

Brisbane alt-rockers Sunhaus have released their latest single Bobby and announced a launch show to play the new track to a local audience.

Following on from their debut single Realignment, the new track maintains Aidan Geraghtyraw’s storytelling vocals and the classic rock instrumentals we loved from Sunhaus’ debut, but also gives us a glimpse into the emotive side of the four piece. Which makes sense, considering Bobby was inspired and named after the loss of drummer Adela Lau’s dog.

Bobby sounds like an alternative blend of Big Scary vocals and Thirsty Merc Instrumentals. The track begins slowly and softly with an instrumental intro of light keys and slow percussion, but quickly builds as Geraghtyraw belts out the chorus. The drumming has a hollowness that perfectly captivates the melancholy of the track.

It’s a very listenable track with a relatable storyline (I miss you Woody <3), so it will undoubtedly slot well into the current Aussie alt music scene. Get ready to be belting out the chorus after only a few listens with it’s catchy vocal hooks.

Both Bobby and Realignment will appear on Sunhaus’ debut EP, due for release in early 2017. With two great tracks surely featuring on the debut EP, we’ll be keeping our eye on these guys. Be sure to check them out at the single launch!
