Verge Collection Announce Trifecta Of Good News
Since Courtney Barnett first revealed her gardening habits, Australia has seen a wave of suburban voices singing about everyday life and the monotony of daily routine. Nowhere is this more true than in the soothing indie vibes of Verge Collection’s new single Postcodes.
On a wave of success following the release of their first single Our Place, Verge Collection are preparing to drop their debut EP ‘Open Plan Living’, before unleashing their nostalgic indie-rock tunes to the masses with their spot on this years BIGSOUND festival.
Postcodes is a summer-vibe, glistening track reflecting on young love and suburban living. It’s throwback to old school surf-rock with its shimmering slide guitar and monotonal, relaxed vocal performance. Verge Collection have hit the nostalgic button and put us smack bang in the middle of Byron Bay on a quiet Sunday afternoon.
On the single and upcoming EP, frontman Ben Morris said, “To me it just means living a life with little to no real plans. Lyrically I think there’s cohesion, the songs to me sound quite optimistic despite some of the themes that are danced around.
“There was quite a lot of material to choose from when we got around to recording so I was able to cherry pick songs that showed the musical scope of what the band could do,” said Morris.
In celebration of Postcodes and their soon-to-be released debut EP, Verge Collection will be hitting the road on a national tour to coincide with their appearance at BIGSOUND. All tour info below!
