Wondrous First Acts Announced For Wonderland 2016!
The first reveal lineup for Perth’s Wonderland 2016 Festival has been announced and they’ve hit us with an all-star cast. With this year’s festival headlined by Flight Facilities, boasting a ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ theme, and a stage curtained by towering pine trees, this gathering in the woods is certainly worth some cross-country travel!
The exclusively Aussie lineup has a fantastical flock of creatures sourced from all around the country. Sydney electronic captains Flight Facilities will be headlining the main stage, along with Hayden James, The Jungle Giants, Skegss, and triple j Unearthed High’s 2012 winner Asta. Perth will also be suppling some musical talent, with the winning act of Slim’s Jamboree (a local music comp) guaranteed a set on the main stage.
The Wonderland festival, which originated in 2011, has always been about the experience and adventure. During its six-year history, this free-roaming fun-fest has traversed several dreamy and disparate of territories – from abandoned department stores, to the bush, and to the seaside. This year is no different, with the festival held in the lush Kitchener Parklands.
The main stage will be curtained by towering pine trees, on which our big name Aussie acts will entertain festival goers with their talented trickery deep into the night. There will also be a second stage “the wastelands” built entirely of shipping containers. The lineup for this stage is yet to be announced, but is said to feature the cream of Australia’s bass scene on the decks.
With a killer lineup (that still has more to come), Wonderland 2016 seems like the perfect end 2016. Tickets on sale tomorrow (Thursday September 15th), get in quick!
