Xana Invites You To Dance Under The ‘Kitchen Light’ With Her Bright New Single
Canadian indie-pop artist Xana has just dropped her new single ‘Kitchen Light’, a fresh LGBTQ anthem with an 80’s tinge.
On a clear trajectory to stardom, the alt-pop powerhouse has an immense talent for creating catchy melodies and confessional lyrics and has now amassed over 4 million streams since first releasing music in late 2020. Her captivating creations explore themes of queer romance, feminism, sex-positivity, introspection and discovery. Xana’s craft is inspired by 80’s rock music and a wide variety of contemporary artists like Halsey, Lorde, Taylor Swift and Ryn Weaver.

In this song Xana paints a playful, evocative image of first touches beneath fluorescent lights, she explains “I wanted to capture exactly how it felt the first time I fell in love; how exhilarating, frustrating and beautiful it was”. ‘Kitchen Light’ is the soundtrack to summer love, a compelling sonic expression of longing, lust and love. Emotional turbulence underpins the track and is reflected in the transformative soundscape, energetic production and killer guitars.
Produced by Shane Stephenson (Listening Party Recordings) and mastered by Elisa Pangsaeng (CPS Mastering), this tribute to first love is the third single Xana’s released this year, and we can’t wait to hear more of her authentic and intimate storytelling in the future.
Have a listen to ‘Kitchen Light’ now & keep an eye out for the music video coming July 8th!
