Get Ya Rum On At Brisbane’s FREE ‘House Of Bacardi’
It’s starting to heat up in Brisbane, both due to Queensland’s super quick transition from winter straight into summer AND there’s new live music events being announced every freakin’ day! One of the more interesting music events happening in the Sunshine State’s capital is the (sort of) takeover of a Fortitude Valley venue by Bacardi.
The rum makers are joining forces with VICE, A Love Supreme, The Creases, and Bedlam Records to deliver a series of unique live music ‘rooms’. There’s not a lot of info, but here’s what we know so far…
228 Wickham Street in Fortitude Valley (home to Greaser, The Foundry, and The Elephant Hotel) will host a wide variety of music and themed ‘House of Bacardi’ rooms.
VICE will host the ‘Hot In Here at House Of Bacardi’, featuring a live set from Fishing and lit DJ sets from Nutrition, FlexMami, Gavin Boyd, and SEZZO SNOT.
Brisbane rockers The Creases will host ‘Close Encounters (Of The Blurred Kind) at House of Bacardi’, promising to be an 80s sci-fi inspired rave that sounds pretty cool! Local buzz act Confidence Man and Venus II will perform live, and The Creases will be laying down some sick beats all night long.
Brisbane label Bedlam Records will host the super-intriguing ‘Cloud Lounge at House Of Bacardi’. The lounge will offer a 5-hour stratospheric live jam “in the basement at House of Bacardi”, featuring members of Baskervillain, Twin Haus, The Jensens, Shady Bliss, Astro Travellers, Boss Moxi, and the Ultrafantiics.
Lastly, local boutique pop-up vinyl store A Love Supreme will host ‘Blessa Discoteca at House of Bacardi’. There’ll be quality spins from “selectors” MIKE WHO (Sydney, Astral People) along with local party rockers Mumbles and Matt Treffene. A Love Supreme say, “Expecting nothing but pure dance floor goodness in our tropical surrounds”.
