The Last Shadow Puppets Deliver Another Single Ahead Of Second Album Release

The Last Shadow Puppets Aviation 2016

English rock super duo The Last Shadow Puppets have got us working up a sweat with the music video for their latest single Aviation, off their upcoming album ‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect’ set for release in just a few weeks.

The opening track from their second album takes a different direction than the two earlier released singles. If Everything You’ve Come To Expect was dreamy and Bad Habits felt sinister, then Aviation can be seen as a satisfying, guitar dominated track.

Owen Pallett’s somber string arrangements give the song a slight melancholic feel, but the steady drum rhythm and leading guitar tunes in the song make it a pleasant track. The lyrics are a fascinating collective of eccentric and deep sentences that only Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys) and Miles Kane (The Rascals) could ever think and write.

The Aviation music video serves as a sequel to the video of Everything You’ve Come To Expect which came out last week. It displays Turner and Kane in danger on the beach at sundown. The two are digging their own graves, watched by a bride in tears, a group of mobsters, and a blindfolded string quartet.

The three singles are a promising preview of The Last Shadow Puppet’s sophomore album. We’re super keen to see if it can top their 2008 debut album ‘The Age Of The Understatement’.

‘Everything You’ve Come To Expect will be released on Friday 1 April.
