Red Deer Festival Releases 2016 Set Times & Program
It’s less than a week til the 2016 Red Deer Music & Arts Festival (it’s THIS weekend y’all!). As such the festival’s organisers have released the day’s program, giving you a couple of days to sort out your crucial plan for the festival’s sixth instalment!
The BYO booze ‘n couch festival this year is headlined by Sydney party-starters Art vs Science and indie-rock heroes The Jungle Giants, as well as sets from Melbourne electro prodigy Owen Rabbit, North-Coast NSW cruisers Mar Haze, Brisbane 9-piece juggernaut BULLHORN, and local rising star beneb.
They’ll be two main stages side-by-side, meaning you’ll be able to experience most of Red Deer’s 2016 live music literally from your BYO armchair! The only hard part of the festival is picking the perfect couch spot in the Amphitheatre…
“Utilising two stages side-by-side allows our punters to park their couch for the day and experience a wide range of up-and-coming bands from the comfort of their Red Deer living room. It also means maximum exposure for all our great bands. For some, this will be the biggest crowd they’ve ever played to,” said Festival Director Julian De Maria.
As the 2016 festival is ‘At the Drive-In’ they’ll be plenty of colourful and entertaining characters filling the infamous Foggs Road natural amphitheatre.
For those wanting to take a more active approach to Red Deer this year, there are a stack of workshops and activities including the always entertaining Fashion of Fields Dance-Off contest, the inaugural Red Deer Sack Race, and a plethora of hands-on activities including art, belly-dancing, drum and hula hoop workshops.
The festival has also announced their extensive food options with a tasty lineup including Potatoes/New York Wings/ Calamari/Churros, Snack the Dog House, Farmer Brown’s Pizza, Bella BBQ, Phatboys, La Tour Eiffel Crepes, Twisted Ice Cream, and Cafe Cartel. Whatever you’re craving during the one-day festival Red Deer Festival with be serving it!
There’s less than 50 tickets remaining, so if you haven’t yet nabbed a ticket you better get a move on! Oh, and if you plan on driving to Red Deer and haven’t got a Vehicle Pass, remember to grab one before you arrive…failing that, hitch a ride with that legend who has one!
