WALKEN’s Picks For BIGSOUND 2016
BIGSOUND 2016 is finally here! It’s almost impossible to pick a certain schedule of live acts performing over the four official nights of BIGSOUND, so thankfully Brisbane’s “three man barrage of noise” WALKEN have given us their three top picks you HAVE to check out!
Ecca Vandal
This ridiculously talented human is probably one of the most exciting up and coming heavier artists in Australia at the moment, in our opinion. Ever since first listening to her debut EP this year we’ve collectively been pretty darn hooked!
By blending the influence of hip hop, punk rock, alternative, and electronica as well as the experience of an eclectic, culturally diverse upbringing, Ecca plus her Producer Kid Knot have created one of the most interesting EPs of the year and we’re extremely keen for whatever happens next!

Totally Unicorn
The Totes Uni fellas are just something else in general! They’re not only one of the most talented heavier acts we’ve played with (in terms of playing ability/musicianship) but they’re easily the funniest as well.
And their live show is an absolute ruckus filled with mind-melting riff-age, grinding rhythms and tie-dye underwear that might just be a tiny bit too small. It’s really quite a sight to see. Plus they’re all extremely lovely dudes, how could anyone dislike that??
Heads Of Charm
Relentless riffs with some really interesting moods, lyrically and melodically. These guys just have something really special hidden behind this noisy, animalistic music. Although we’re still yet to see them live, we can imagine it’d be a whirlwind of distorted fury that immediately punches you in the face!
Oh, and of course check out ya bois WALKEN performing at Deathproof’s pre-BIGSOUND party at The Crowbar!!
