AAA Backstage’s 5th B’day Party – 29th April @ The Foundry
With the launch of our new website in January combined with the all amazing music coming out of Brisbane at the moment, we thought we’d celebrate our 5th Birthday the proper way: A massive two-stage event at The Foundry Brisbane with some of Brisbane’s best bands!
They’ll be live sets from The Jensens, Ayla, Sahara Beck, Lastlings, Machine Age, The Strums, Youth Allowance, Keelan Mak, Silent Feature Era, PLUS another major act to be announced closer to the date! Gang of Youths
Since the release of their debut album ‘The Positions’ almost a year ago, Sydney 5-piece Gang of Youths have cemented themselves as one of Australia’s best new alt-rock acts. With their magnificent single Magnolia reaching #21 in last year’s Hottest 100 and their electric live shows (plus frontman David Le’aupepe is a total bae) Gang of Youths are not to be missed! Matt Corby – ‘Telluric’ Album Tour
He’s the amazing voice behind Brother, Resolution, and now a whole debut album. After first making a name for himself as runner-up in 2007’s Australian Idol and a string of soulful EPs and singles, Corby has finally answered the call from his fans with the release of his highly acclaimed debut album ‘Telluric’. Catch the very handsome (and hairy) young man as he tours Australia over the next month, experiencing his acapella song Monday live will surely be worth the price of admission alone. Hilltop Hoods – ‘Drinking From The Sun/Walking Under Stars’ Restrung Tour
MCs Suffa, Pressure, and DJ Debris have together been leaders in the Australian hip-hop scene for years. They’re now embarking on their second ‘Restrung’ tour, which sees the trio perform their two latest albums ‘Drinking From The Sun’ and ‘Walking Under Stars’ live backed by a full symphony orchestra. Trivium – Australian Tour
American heavy metal monoliths Trivium are bringing their infamous live show back down under this month! Known for a swag of awards and countless sold-out shows across the globe, the metal statesmen are striving for greatness following the release of their seventh studio album ‘Silence in the Snow’. Good Boy – ‘No Love For Back Home’ East Coast Tour
Possibly Brisbane’s best emerging larrikin trio Good Boy are about to head off on their biggest East Coast tour to date! They’ve steadily risen to be the talk of Brisbane’s music scene off the back of their recent singles Transparency and No Love For Back Home and opened Brisbane’s 2016 Laneway Festival. Blurst Of Times Festival
The Blurst of Times festival is back after a year MIA, and its lineup is killer! Launched in 2013, the annual boutique garage, alternative, punk, and indie-rock one-day rager has become a Brisbane favourite. This year’s Blurst of Times will see the Festival expand its on-ground capacity, with two-dozen bands taking over three venues on Saturday 16th April.
The impressive line-up includes infamous local ratbags Dune Rats, South Australia’s finest punk Bad// Dreams, Perth alt-rock princes Methyl Ethel, and the quirky Kirin J Callinian. If you’re looking to have a boogie (or a headbang) with your mates, then snap your tickets up for 2016’s The Blurst of Times HERE
Groovin The Moo
Australia’s only regional touring music festival is back for another year, and it’s kind of a big deal! Acts such as 2015 Hottest 100 toppers The Rubens, Alison Wonderland, Boy & Bear, ODEZA, British India, and DZ Deathrays will roll into Maitland, Bendigo, Canberra, Townsville, Bunbury, and Oakbank in late April and into early May.
