Drapht Drops Anthem feat. Dune Rats & Announces Fifth Album

Drapht

For fans of Perth rapper Drapht who’ve been anticipating a follow up to the 2011 album titled ‘The Life Of Riley’, there’s been quite a wait. Despite dropping two stellar singles over the course of the year, All Love and Dancin’ John Doe, we haven’t had any type of album announcement, until now!

Looking to put an end to the five year gap, Drapht has now announced his fifth album ‘Seven Mirrors’, alongside the release of his new single Mexico. While collaborating with Aussie hip-hop acts has certainly a norm in his past releases, his new single boasts a completely unexpected collaboration with stoner punk rockers Dune Rats!

Mexico itself is an amazing blend of Drapht’s inventive rhyming scheme, alongside a banging beat topped off with the Dune Rats’ gritty guitars riffs and inventive, anthem like chorus. As the title would suggest, Drapht delves in to everything Mexican: the food, drinks, and culture, something which is cemented even further with Dunies’ extremely powerful sing-along chorus, “What up hombre, you wanna party? We’re living miles away, where everyday is a holiday!“.

There’s no doubt Drapht + Dunies is a promising look into the forthcoming album, and with further collaborations from the likes of Hilltop Hoods, Katie Noonan, Joyride, and Briggs, this certainly looks to be an entirely game changing album in itself!

If you’re lucky enough to be in the Gold Coast area in the coming months, remember the inaugural Shakafest is on, featuring both Drapht and Dune Rats. No doubt there’s going to be one hell of a collaboration at the festival thanks to their new single, so try not to get too hyped!

In the meantime have a listen to the track, and be sure to check out the rest of the tour dates below!

Drapht’s fifth studio album  ‘Seven Mirrors’ is set to be released Friday, 19th of August.
