Falls Festival First Lineup Announcement, We Know Where We’ll Be NYE
Stop the presses ‘cause we sure did! The first Falls Festival lineup has been announced! Taking to the Byron Bay, Lorne, Marion Bay, and Fremantle, stages over New Years will be the already-announced Childish Gambino, London Grammar, as well as a HUGE stack of other bands.
Aussie heroes like The Avalanches, Matt Corby, Violent Soho, and Alison Wonderland will be joined by international acts like MØ, Grouplove, BROODS, and Jamie T to make for one hell of a three-day bender camping affair!
Gambino, whose last album ‘Because The Internet’ dropped in 2014, has been teasing his return along with featuring on his brother’s track earlier this year. London Grammar dropped out of the 2014 Splendour In The Grass, but will be making their return at Falls. The Avalanches have been blowing up Australia with their sophomore album ‘Wildflower’, and fresh off their performance at Splendour this year, will be looking to continue their domination.
Adding to the list is Violent Soho who haven’t had two minutes to sit down amongst their insane touring schedule since they dropped ‘WACO’ this year, and Alison Wonderland who is currently tearing it up in the US, and you have yourself a rockin’ NYE shindig.
That’s before we even mention huge names like last year’s Hottest 100 winners The Rubens, British rockers Catfish & The Bottlemen, album-droppers Ball Park Music, former Powderfinger frontman Bernard Fanning, hip hop royalty Grandmaster Flash, and so many more!
Fremantle is this year’s new location, however, it looks like not everyone will be able to make the trip across the continent with a fair few bands only playing the East Coast stages. Be sure to pay attention to your local, as each location will have a slightly different lineup, but in general there’s plenty to go around!
CHANGES TO TICKETING!!
Falls Festival organisers have listened to what punters had to say and they’ve swapped to a general sales system. So as usual there’s the pre sales (but you’ve gotta be with bloody Optus for that). So most punters will need to be up bright and early on Tuesday, 30th of August if you wanna grab a ticket. Camping passes will be sold separately to the festival ticket.
As an added perk for lovers of Falls Festival, if you’ve attended three or more you can become a Friend of Falls. This will net you early bird tickets and some other sweet goodies too! Applications to become a Friend of Falls closes on Monday, 22nd of August.
As well as killer music, Falls Festival is sure to be packed to the brim with funky foods, breathtaking beverages, awesome art, manic markets, and stacks of supplementary activities!
