Brisbane Street Art Festival Back In 2017, Artist Applications Now Open
After this year’s success, Brisbane will once again play host to the Brisbane Street Art Festival next February. The festival, which will be occurring from 11-26 of February, will showcase Brisbane’s emerging art scene on walls and in venues across our city’s favourite indie and underground haunts.
The inaugural festival featured the painting of over 25 walls, with appearances by artists such as Adam Busby, Cross Stitch Of Contempt, and Luke Henery (Violent Soho), just to name a few! The 2017 festival will feature a variety of different scenes including live mural art, live music, light shows, projection mapping, creative master classes and workshops, numerous exhibitions, and public forums.
Support has already been confirmed by many different Brisbane venues such as Brisbane Powerhouse, Queensland University of Technology, Queensland Museum, JMC Academy, and Brisbane City Council…long story short, Brisbane Street Art Festival is going to be bigger and better in 2017!
Festival organisers say the 2017 event will be held across Brisbane including the CBD, South Bank, West End, New Farm, Kelvin Grove, Fortitude Valley, Woolloongabba, Highgate Hill, and Newstead, and will feature more than 50 artists.
