Prince’s Paisley Park Estate To Be Made Into Museum

Following his shocking and untimely passing, Prince’s Paisley Park estate will now be a permanent memorial to the late artist.

Since his passing, heartbroken fans have been making the pilgrimage to the legendary performer’s Minnesota residence. Now his family have revealed plans to turn his estate into a museum dedicated to Prince’s life and music.

“We will turn Paisley Park into a museum in Prince’s memory. It would be for the fans. He was all about the fans…Prince was always private but would have wanted his music remembered,” said Maurice Phillips, the singer’s brother-in-law.

Talking to ET Online, frequent collaborator and one-time fiancée Sheila E. said Prince had long considered turning his enigmatic home into a memorial.

“We’re hoping to make Paisley what [Prince wanted] it to be. [He] was working on it being a museum. He’s been gathering memorabilia and stuff from all the tours, like my drums and his motorcycle,” said Sheila E.

“There’s a hallway of his awards and things, which he didn’t care about too much, but he displayed it for the fans because he knows that they would want to see it,” she detailed. “There’s pictures of him all down the halls, some you’ve never seen before and some never [seen].”

In addition to the plans for the Paisley Park museum, Sheila E. mentioned plans for a tribute performance that is in the works.

“I’m supposed to be the one musical director to put his tribute together with all the original people and we hope that that happens. We’re working on it, we’ll see what happens…the plan is to have something here in Minneapolis.”

The news of Prince’s passing was announced from the Carver County Sherrifs Office and comes after reports of his hospitalisation last week due to flu-like symptoms and suspicion of complications from pneumonia. However, no official cause of death has been declared.
