Sideshow Alley: Sydney City Limits

Update 20/02 9.30pm: A final few sideshows have come to light in the weeks leading in Sydney City Limits. Justice have announced exclusive DJ sets in Sydney and Brisbane while Beck has announced an intimate Sydney show at The Factory Theatre.

Update 13/12 8.50pm: Announcing their second, and final, lineup announcement earlier in the week, Sydney City Limits headliners, Future and Young Thug, are teaming up for one massive double headline sideshow in Brisbane. They’ll be joined by local heavyweights, Tkay Maidza and B Wise. Scope date and ticket details below.

Update 11/12 12.15pm: One of the world’s most renowned purveyors of rock and folk music, Beck, has announced two very special headline shows coinciding with his performance at Sydney City Limits. Surprisingly, Beck will take the stage in Canberra (!) and Melbourne this February. These shows come off the back of his new album, ‘Colours’. Both shows will be supported by Meg Mac.

Original Story: The festival announcement that surprised the national—Sydney City Limits. An offshoot of Austin City Limits, this festival is bringing some of the biggest names to the country and is set to be Big Day Out’s replacement in a matter of years.

Courtesy of Secret Sounds—the team behind the ever dynamic Splendour in the Grass and Falls Festival—Sydney City Limits hits Sydney’s Centennial Park on Saturday 24 February 2018. Topping the mammoth bill are the likes of Justice, Beck, Phoenix—who announced this own sideshows—Grace Jones, Tash Sultana, the Avalanches, just to name a few.

A handful of acts lining the poster have announced a run of sideshows to align with the festival and, because the festival is based in Sydney, seems as though Brisbane will get some of the action—unlike the traditional Laneway, Falls and Splendour sideshows announcements.

See who’s playing in smaller, more intimate venue near you. The below will be updated depending on sell outs and more additions as to who else announce sideshows.
