Travel Back To The 70s With Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell’s “Keith Richards”

Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell

Fresh off their performance at BIGSOUND and their support slot with Seth Sentry and Remi, Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell are certainly cementing themselves as one of the strongest acts in the Gold Coast region right now. With their addictive combination of sultry beats and smooth rhymes, the duo have now returned with the visuals to their latest single, Keith Richards.

Channelling their inner 70’s rockstar, the visuals transport us back to a retro talk show, one which the Rolling Stones would often perform on. Made up of of funny anchor moments,  funky dance moves, and some of the freshest hippie threads, this is one blast from the past that we can get behind.

Inspired by emcee Lane-Harry’s dream where he was the English rocker himself, catapulted back to 1972 in the ‘Exile On Main Street’ times, the pair have gone onto craft an extremely calm and addictive tune that has us reaching out for Summer already.

Similar to their previous single Netflix, Keith Richards shares a comparable vibe to Drake, this time with the chart topping single Hotline Bling. Opening with a relaxed Caribbean dancehall inspired keyboard line, topped off with an bold bass-line and snapping drums, it’s simple yet elegant, a perfect fit for those coconut and mini-umbrella moments.

The first vocal performance comes from singer songwriter Eliza Pickard, who performs an amazingly tranquil hook, harmonising with producer Ike Campell’s and his raspy tone. As Harry joins with his distinguishable voice, he flexes an incredibly laid-back flow which masterfully glides you through the down tempo beat, a task many upcoming emcees struggle to adapt to. Painting a picture of this classic rocker lifestyle which he dreamt, it’s a unique theme for a rap song, but Lane-Harry makes it work so well.

Lane-Harry x Ike Campbell have come such a far way in the last year alone, and we can’t wait to see where the pair head next. But for now, sit back, and relax to the video below!
